NIT: "NATIONAL: The signing of a $1.5 billion asbestos compensation settlement by James Hardie Industries may be delayed while the company investigates whether it has to pay victims from a small Aboriginal mining community in NSW.

The building products company has launched a review into whether it is liable for the hundreds of residents and mine workers from the town of Baryulgil, in northern NSW.

James Hardie owned an asbestos mine in the town from 1944 to 1976. The mine closed in 1979."
