I wonder whether a public high school can still have as well-educated and experienced teachers as private ones. At a recent public high school orientation, I was surprised to learn that teachers hold advanced degrees.

A. It’s a common misconception to think that because a school is private, it must have better-educated, more experienced teachers on staff. Well-educated teachers can be found in public and private schools. Private schools are not required to hire certified teachers, grant tenure, or pay teachers for years of experience, and they often do not. Because they’re not regulated, hiring practices differ. Private schools publicize their teachers’ education, and accomplishments to attract parents and students." (Full story at link)
